ADA Accessible Affordable Housing
Overview
County staff was directed to provide information on opportunities, if any, for the County to incentivize the production and provision of affordable housing that is Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accessible. Staff should review potential strategies, including regulatory and financial, as ways to possibly incentivize developers and property owners to provide ADA-accessible affordable units, which could help to meet the housing needs of residents with disabilities. The County attorney's Office should provide separate, confidential legal advice to staff and the Board on this matter.
