Recommendations for an Amendment(s) to List of Targeted Industries

Overview

County Staff was directed to bring forward, for Board discussion, consideration, and potential action, recommendations for an amendment(s) to the list of targeted industries for new and expanding companies in light of emerging industries, including, but not limited to, renewable energy, drone manufacturing, and other industries and sectors identified by staff based on the Board's Strategic Plan, Comprehensive Plan, the CESMP, and other applicable Board policies, and an updated targeted industries study. Such staff amendment recommendations should also include a path forward for the Board's consideration of the removal of Data Centers from the list for targeted industries, alongside an analysis of any fiscal, logistical, or other considerations staff deems appropriate for Board consideration. Staff should provide the information to the Board in a memo or presentation at a future Board meeting, as staff determines appropriate.
