National Museum of Americans in Wartime

Overview

County staff, in conjunction with the Chair's office, were directed to send a letter to the State delegation this week reaffirming the Board's support for State funding for the National Museum of Americans in Wartime, which is consistent with the action the Board took last year. There are currently two proposed budget amendments under consideration by the General Assembly to appropriate funding for access and infrastructure improvements to the museum. Since the State budget amendments for the museum require a local match from the County, the County Executive is also directed to identify options for funding the required match and provide a recommendation to the Board. Any option shall follow the Board's Principles of Sound Financial Management, Sections 11.04 and 11.05, ensuring the County performs its due diligence and fiscal impact analyses.
