Revisit BOCS Action in Support of a TNVR (Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Release) Program

Overview
County staff was directed to provide an update on the Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Release (TNVR) program memo provided to the Board on March 8, 2023. The update should include an updated review and provide recommendations on the issue of free-roaming cat colonies in the County, whether staff recommends amendments to the County Code, and a review by the County Attorney’s office for any legal issues. Staff is also directed to provide the Board with the fiscal and operational impacts of a Trap, Neuter, Vaccinate, and Release (TNVR) program for Fiscal Year 2025-2026. This information and recommendations should be provided to the Board in a memo and/or presentation at a future Board meeting, as the staff determines appropriate. (Staff should also work with the Animal Advisory Committee on this matter before bringing the matter back to the Board)
