Provide Cost Estimate and Funding Options to Conduct a Master Plan for a Community Rec Center

Overview
The last County-owned and operated recreation center was developed in 1991. Since that time, our population has grown substantially across all magisterial districts, putting a strain on existing facilities and creating service gaps where new demand has emerged. To that end, County staff is directed to provide a cost estimate and funding options to conduct a master plan process identifying locations where the County might add new community recreation centers Countywide, with emphasis in the Brentsville District. The scope of work should include assessing community demand, identify site options, and estimating capital costs and operating costs. This information should be provided to the Board in a memo and/or presentation at a future Board meeting, as staff determines appropriate. The County Attorney’s Office is directed to review County staff’s information and recommendations for any legal issues.
