City of Manassas Park

Overview

County staff was directed to examine the request from the Mayor of the City of Manassas Park to examine the Voluntary Settlement of Annexation and Immunity between Manassas Park and Prince William County that was last modified in 2002. In particular, the request is to consider waiving the development restrictions that are a part of that agreement or declare that the agreement has served its purpose and will no longer apply to future development in the city, as the city is interested in developing two (2) parcels of land and changing the designation from commercial development and public use to potential residential development. Staff is asked to examine the city's request further and come back with recommendations for action, if appropriate, for the Board.
